As far as presses go, I think the easiest is the crunchy. It is open ended so you don't have to worry about the exact amount of glass to wind on the mandrel. As for specific shapes, I would suggest a straight sided lentil or spree over a regular lentil. If you get too much glass, just don't press so hard.
