I think there is some stellar artistry out there in the lampwork artisan universe. I'm a collector as well as a beadmaker, and there is that something, hard to define, that makes me gasp and gravitate toward one artist and not another one, or ten artists.

Yes the market is saturated, but I get the sense that as many are leaving lampwork as are beginning it.

I myself still am searching for that sweet spot where people gasp and gravitate toward my beads. I do get discouraged when sales grind to a halt, and I question my talent, but I'm just not ready to give up.

No specific helpful critique, other than to make what you love, don't measure yourself by your sales, have fun with it, hone your skills, try new techniques and let the rest be what it is.

And when you have done it, come back and teach me how to do just that.
