I've had the original Y for well over a year, so I guess the connections could become loose. I'm really looking forward to replacing it with Kim's and keeping my fingers crossed that it helps solve the problem.
I've also started cleaning the face of the torch with a stainless steel brush, cleaning ports and working further out (although with a small flame it's hard to get too far out. LOL) and it DOES seem to help. I won't give up as I really like the torch.
