"ISGB and Bead & Button Magazine Announce:

Convergence: Jewelry designs using art-glass beads and inspired by the four elements. A joint venture of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers and Bead&Button magazine.

The ISGB and Bead and Button Magazine are pleased to announce a collaborative exhibit of jewelry designed with ISGB members' lampworked beads. The theme is the four elements: earth, fire, water and air. The exhibit will be displayed in 2009 at the Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster (pending), the Bead&Button Show, and The Gathering in Miami. ISGB will publish a catalog of the exhibit.

In addition, Bead & Button will select 15-20 finished jewelry designs to be published with instructions, 1-paragraph bios and thumbnail photos of the jewelry designers, plus ¼-page bios and thumbnail photos of the lampworkers, in a publication in fall 2009. The jewelry (and beads) will be donated by the participants and auctioned at the Miami Gathering, with proceeds going to CERF and ISGB's educational programs.

Sign up now! Notify Sarah at admin@isgb.org by August 15, 2008 that you would like to be matched with a jewelry designer. Lampworkers and jewelry designers will be matched by September 1, 2008 and you will have until February 1, 2009 to create your design, photograph it, and submit it for jurying. If you would like to be both the designer and the beadmaker, you are free to do so, but please advise Sarah of the fact that you will be participating. If you have a jewelry designer you work with, you can submit both names as a pair. There will be a $20 jury fee to participate. Additional details regarding the show will be posted on the ISGB website."
