Just an extra note about respirators; They will keep stuff out of your lungs but they don't work any good at keeping glass colorants ( like cadmium, copper or other hazardous metals) off your hands, arms work bench, tools and every horizontal surface in your studio where your hands or your familys hands can pick them up and get into your food, drink or on you face.
There really isn't any good substitute for fast moving, high volume air exhaust.
