This is what a finger looks like after attempting to catch a falling molten marble... good thing i missed, it could have been way worse. It literally made contact for a fraction of a second. I had a similar one when i garaged a bead quickly while going up stairs to handle a kid brawl, when i came back down to finish it i was so flustered i just picked up the mandrel with out thinking (yes it was sticking out of the kiln) ummm, yup, it was as hot as snot, not only did i burn my pointer and thumb pretty darn bad but i dropped that stinking bead on the floor and was too hurt to pick it up again.
