Generally a half-face respirator will work and is much more comfortable than a full face model. You want to get P100 cartridges for the respirator. They are similar to a hepa filter and remove 99.97% of particulates (enamels, glass, metal fumes from high silver/metal glasses).
The white face mask types that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes are not as effective. They remove 95% of particulate at most and tend to leak so the efficiency is often even lower.
