I've done coring that way. I was wondering about the statement by writhoma that she / he makes the beads right on findings from Metal Clay Findings. I looked and found fine silver findings that you put on a mandrel (I think) and make the beads right on the core. http://www.metalclayfindings.com/lampworkbeadcores.aspx I'd never heard of that before.
