This is just my $0.02. Work the AP or DAP at temperatures where it turns clear, use lots of oxy. My strike cycle is at 1125 for 30 minutes.
This is what works for me.

Hot glass does not crack.
Unless it is glowing and drippy, hot glass looks like cold glass.
