I could try the Water Pik to clean it out. It probably does have a lot of built-up debris in the collet. I like the naval jelly and vinegar ideas, too. I may try heating it also. I just heated for about 10 seconds the one time.
I ended up buying a new Flex Shaft, but that was expensive.
