Never mind I think, you can use both, there is not a big difference. Since coe 90 is pretty stiff, for layered pieces thin is more convenient because when you fuse a piece, you end up with a thicker piece, but both will work, anyway - fused glass wants to be 1/4" if fully fused without any intentional limitations - pretty close to regular rod thickness. So you can use what you have without additional investments.
