What I do is let it cool just to the point of the brown appearing, reheat it quickly back to white, and then pop it in the kiln. It retains only hints of the blue, but also gets lots of striations and variations in the brown.
I am planning on coming to the Bash if I can! I've missed too many. Life is finally settling down again, phew! I'm looking forward to seeing you, and many other old friends, there!
