OUCH! I'm so glad you are healing! I know wound care for something like that can be a really long painful process.
As a total newbie, i've shattered quite my share of glass and since I don't care for the "burnt hair" smell I finally picked up a cheap welders cap to protect my head in addition to my apron (I love to play with fire, but I is afeared of it LOL so I tend to be super safety girl) I wear it backwards to the brim isn't over my face, but it's definately fixed the singed hair
issues.
