Default Paragon F-130 Kiln?

Hi,
I am contemplating the idea of getting a Paragon F130 Kiln.
I like pretty much everything about it, except the fact that the elements are located in the top.
That does worry me. I find 13 inches high to have only the element on top, especially that heat rises...
I was wondering if some of you have this model, how you like it and / or your toughts on the issue.
I want to use this to make sculptures and also for small glass pendants and ocasional beads. I often make one bigger sculpture (or portion) and a few pendants in a session. I just want to make sure the heat is even enough so I don't have problems...

I am also considering the Glass Hive Economy 9" so 12 x 12 x 9 high.
The only thing worrying me on this one is the open gap at the bottom of the door and the controller. I read a lot of good about it here! How's the digital controller? I work boro, moretti (small and bigger pieces) and now 96coe. I also want to experiment with kiln striking boro colors... so there you go, already 4 programs just there! I am worried the controller would limit me. But if is is very quick and easy to program I could just program whatever I want after I am done working and soaking at the set point temp.

thanks!

thanks

Hi Malem,

The anneal cycles for 104 and 96 are very close. We actually use the 104 program for our furnace work (96) as well. The boro program we use is Mr Smiley's. It allows for both annealing and a nice strike on colors. You will find the Fuji fairly simple to reprogram should you venture into fusing or PMC. Our kilns are designed to hold consistent heat even with the mandrel gap. Doors can also be customized to not have one if that is your preference, at no additional cost.

I am very interested to hear feedback from the other members.
