Default Canister too cold, or empty?

Oops sorry I accIdently posted this as a reply instead of new thread

When the map pro 1lb canister gets too cold is it possible that the flame just poofs out? Or does that mean the canister is empty? Lol my cans seem to be lasting only about 2 hours and it's not turned uP high. I shut it off after about 20 min or so and turn it back on after 10 min, do I need to let it "rest" longer to ge the chill off the canister? Or should I wrap hot towl around it? How hot? How long?
Thanks!

It's probably cold. Wrap it in a heating pad, warm towel, pot of warm water, between your legs... Whatever works for you.

If you have more than 1 canister and you don't want to wrap it, just swap them out. You can reuse until it's completely empty. If the flame goes out and the can isn't cold, then you're out of gas.

My canisters generally last about 2 - 3 hours, depending on what I'm doing. I find, if I've worked long enough that it starts to frost, that it's time to take a break and let the canister warm back up; at that point it's impossible for the flame to give off enough heat for me to work. I give it a half hour or so. Haven't tried a heating pad yet, but I don't mind the breaks (and I garage what I'm working on in the kiln in the meantime).

HTH,
Alli

I could get 9 hours out of the MAPP 1lb tanks.

Omg, how?! If I keep the flame low I can make it last longer, but nothing near 9 hours!
