Default butterfly bead

Is there a poem or anything that is given with the butterfly beads? I have a co worker who just lost a child and I was going to give her a bead, I would like to give her a poem too if you don't mind sharing it.

Thanks Caroline

There is a card but I don't have any at the moment.

Is it possible for me to get one or for you to fax me a copy?

Thanks Caroline

I wrote a poem after our boy Jason died from Leukemia. I don't know if it is going to work for your purposes but here goes:

Little caterpillar,
who bore you to the briar?
Among the thorns,
you seek and find your food.

Little caterpillar,
Spread wide your hands,
fishing lines of faith.

Capture love
and hold it bound,
wrap tight around,
the embrace of love.

A cocoon,
your tomb,
a second time,
your Mother's
womb.

The Sun Calls Forth!

Emerge and fly,
the upswept
surging sky.
Arise!

So brave,
and free,
and high,

Beyond the briar!

That is beautiful Deb. I am so sorry for the loss of your son. I think this poem will work perfectly. I am actually a little nervous to make and give this bead to my coworker. I don't know her well, I think I have spoken to her twice. I am not sure she will like it. Is it weird to send something so personal to someone you hardly know?

Dear Caroline,
Not at all! It is the kindness of so many people which makes the unbearable bearable. Just give the gift without any kind of speech since there is nothing you can really say that will help - just that you have been thinking of her. That simple phrase says it all.
You never know how someone will respond because their feelings are all over the place. She may not have the energy to think of your perspective. Just give the gift and let her respond or not respond as she wishes.
Our Jason died many years ago. It is possible to live a good and happy life again.
Peace
Debbie

I am so glad that you found peace again Debbie. Thanks so much for the advice. I think I will mail it to her because I don't want to upset her at work.

Default Butterfly Gift

Smart idea Caroline. Work is hard enough without that distraction. However, people frequently thought it bad to bring up Jason at all because they thought it might hurt me. In reality, I was glad to find him being remembered - both then and now. I treasured the friends who had the courage to remember him in conversation with me.

Your gift will be appreciated even if you do not hear anything back from her.
Debbie
