Default Dichroic alchemy images question ?

so I have searched through the threads looking for a answer but have not found anything I am sure there must be info on here somewhere ?? can anyone help ?
I just received some small dichroic images ( you know the sun and symbols in dichro on clear ) for boro and now I am wondering how to apply them ? do they need to be heated up first in the kiln or is on the marver enough ? I watched the short vid on the dichroic alchemy website but it was pretty difficult to see what he was actually doing ? Do i need to coat squares with clear first ? or is the clear coating on them enough? I have used dichro with soft glass before but not with boro any suggestions ? or direction to a thread with info would be awesome !
thanks
melissa

Preheat in kiln and apply image side down - no need to add extra clear although you can do that too.

pro tip: It's best to use tools when handling them at all times to avoid leaving any oils etc on the glass.

I never pre-heat them. I just hold them with tweezers, then heat them up gently way out in the flame, with the non-coated size facing the flame. Do that for about 20-30 seconds, then heat the end of a 4mm rod and attach it to the edge of the image to hold it. Once you have the rod attached, you can heat it more and attach it to whatever you want to attach it to.

Yeah, you can pre-heat them in the flame like Cosmo does too.

Hi,

If I wanted to do a small pendant using these dichroic images, could I go ahead and add the piece to either a gather or a maria and slightly implode the design and then add some powder frit on the back?

What I´m asking is if dichroic can be used for implosions.

Thanks.
