Web Hosting and building recomendations
I need to build a new site with a new host. I really would like to find a host that has some templates for building a site that would include a shopping cart function and easily connects with paypal for payment.
I am looking for something simple and easy to maintain and change.
Yahoo has a decent template format that supports these functions but I am sure there are others out there.
Any reccomendations?
Thanks,
Trey

I love ecommercetemplates.com
Pappashop has great recommendations from many, many beadmakers as a specialist

I second the Pappashop recommendation! It's run by a husband & wife team and you'll get very personalized attention if you have any problems at all. You'll also be supporting another lampwork artist as Jocelyn, the wife, is lampwork artist too!

I am using the Yahoo free Sitebuilder program and it's really easy. (I knew nothing about a website when I started!!) They have a huge # of free templates to choose from or you can build your own. They also have an interface with a shopping cart and paypal that's pretty easy to use. Their monthly fee is cheap and I am very happy with their service!! I once had to call the 800# when I accidently deleted something and actually got a real person right away. It's wonderful to be able to have total control of the site and change things at any time. I have two websites, and I moved BOTH of them to Pappashop. I love the interface and the owners, Alex and Jocelyn couldn't be nicer to deal with.

PappaShop gets my vote as well. They have us design partners, but they also have built in designs as well.

Folks when you use YAHOO/Homestead or other similar sites, your domain name is NOT easily searched and spidered by search engines, Because THEIR NAME goes in font of yours EVEN if you are using your own domain name. (ie homestead.artemislampwork.com is what a search engine/spider sees) So, your site will NOT be ranked properly when searched by someone surfing. (surfers will find a lot of other sites before yours comes up)
A company like Pappashop or another reputable server/host, actually HOSTS your site but they put only YOUR DOMAIN name up (so if I were to use them the spiders would see artemislampwork.com ONLY) This is VERY important!
hope this helps!!

Take a look at dreamhost. Great price, great software, and one-click installs on Zencart, and some other OS software. Mal's e-commerce works with paypal and it's a pretty nice cart - free, too!
Best,
Deborah

I don't recommend easyhost
I switched to godaddy.com and they seem to have a pretty good system.

I used web.com and have been very happy. I had to use customer service last week for a tech problem and they were great. They had a nice choice of templates. It costs me 9.95 a month and I got a paypal shopping cart for free. I'm not a computer whiz but I can edit my site pretty quickly now.
I've recommended this site to several people and then saw they have a referral program where I can actually get paid so if you want to try them let me know. I'm broke!!

I had mine designed by Jacqueline Carney, who is a member of LE. She is very talented - I told her what I liked and she flew with it. I am not quite ready to debut it here, need to get it populated first, but she has my wholehearted recommendation. And as for price, they have several payment plans to choose from. Look at my logo at the bottom of this post, she designed that. If you want more info, please pm me.
