Haleluja! I made similar beads like this in the past and I couldn't remember what colors I used! Thanks for sharing!

Welcom Anouk! The first few posts have all of the combos listed, but there are tons of pics throughout the thread. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

fulcrum mixing?
Can someone explain what fulcrum mixing is? I think of fulcrum as used in levers but can't figure out how to mix color that way.

Ok, I'm fairly new to boro....sooooo...this might be a dumb question. When you are saying one color "over" another color is this the same as "encased"? Or do you mean when you are, say, doing a flower implosion you put the first petal down then put the next color "over" that color....I'm confused please help.

rjw, I got these recipes from a lot of different people, so they are written as they told me.
But most of the time it means a layer of one color over another as in encasing. For example, any Northstar Extra light Yellow (ELY) over any red will make pink. So you would stripe a rod of red completely with ELY and then pull out into a cane.
In the case of outlines, it means placing a dot or lines or frit over another color to get the outline effect where the colors meet..

Thanks Lana, that helps. I've been just layering and have had mixed results.

Just tried mixing some NS Steel Wool with TAG Red Elvis and NS Amber Purple. Steel Wool can over power quickly. Just saying.

the reason you get better (different) colors with simax vs. other clears is, according to Abe from NS, the 'oxidation state' of the clear. Apparently color manufacturers choose their base clear with this in mind, too.

Just started using Amber purple over Irrid - beautiful implosions especially when backed with Onyx.

What a wonderful thread. I'm so eager to learn more about the "mysterious" stuff.
The color reactions are so incredible.

Ok I now have Irrid, I'll have to try this. If my bail looks that good, I'll be a happy camper.
