Default Where do you find Raku?

I'm a newbie and have read alot about raku. Is this only frit or is it in rods? Can it be used with a hot head? Who carries it? Any information would be appreciated.

Raku is another name for a Reichenbach glass Iris Orange. It comes in frit and rods and is sold by many of the glass dealers like LBSupply which is where I usually buy mine from....Jon is great!

LE member, artflower, has some for sale at great prices in both frit and rods.
I just bought some from her to give to my neighbor as a Xmas present.
You could PM artflower and see if she still has some. I like to support LE members so I tend to purchase from them whenever I can. LBSupply is an LE member too.

Have fun!

You can buy it in frit and rod form at Olympic Color Rods as well although you have to buy the frit by the .5 kilo and the cane by the .25 kilo:

www.glasscolor.com

There's no reason you can't use it with your hothead but you may not be able to get the various colors from it that someone on an oxy/propane torch might get. Just remember it's COE 96 or thereabouts so even in rod form you should only use it sparingly with Bullseye or Effetre.
