December Show & Do Tell?
Thought since I went from serious lurker to posting like crazy I would start the December show and tell. By the way how come the Boro room is not part of the main pages? Anyone knows the history?
So about my offering:
Beads made with Dougie Pink - some using the tweezer method and some just doing the wave with clear. The more purple ones were kiln stuck at about 1150 for about 2 hours. The other for about 1 hr.
Focal 1 - Base GA Persimon Strike with random frit - (I think NS DAP) encased
Focal 2 - Momkas American Beauty base with random frit - encased
Focal 3 - Base GA Persimmon Strike with random frit - (I think NS DAP) encased
Focal 4 - Pomegranate base with DAP stinger - encased
Disks - I think Butterscotch center with Rust ruffle and Amazon Night with Silver Strike 5 ruffle

Thank you so much for telling us what we are looking at, and a blurb of what you did. Its very helpful for those of us just starting on the boro road.

In keeping with the pink theme The first set is just pomegrante cased with a layer of extra light yellow and then clear, annealed at 1075 for 1/2 hour and then 1050 for 1/2 hour. I love these for jewelry. The second set, can't remember what I did there...

Pretty beads going on here. I'll play too! Here's some DAP and garnet over rust. Struck in the flame and kiln struck at 1125 for an hour to strike the deeper recesses.

Fabulous
OMG, Kiko those are beautiful! I still haven't gotten the hang of DAP. I can't seem to keep it hot enough while shaping the bead.
Here are some new ones for me.
And one of soft glass

Hey Rob - you are welcome - I think Show and Tell is really supposed to be that - so that we can learn from each other - and truly in the end everyone's bead will have their personal spin so no need to fret about other people 'copying' your beads. I think this is especially the case with Boro - where it is even difficulty to copy one-selves's own beads! (well at least that is the case for me)

Thanks Suzanne! It is kind of blessing and kind of a curse - I've got he pinks down (well at least this week ) but can't figure what else to do with other colors. Hope pink never goes out of style!
GLMcbead, love the pendant. Colors pop!
Lori - OOOOOOOOOOOOMG! I love the beads! Thank you for sharing... maybe there is hope for me to get out of the pink!
Sandy, beautiful!
Staci - cool color combos! what did you use?
Terreverte - nice focal!

Cecila, I wish I could remember for sure! I know the first set is turquoise and blue moon mixed and encased in clear. The second I'm pretty sure is Caramel mixed with AP encased in clear. The third I think is Caramel mixed with blue moon encased in clear. The last set I can't remember what I did!
I really need to start taking notes. I always think I'll remember how I did something and then can never do it again.

LOL! I am glad to see that I am not alone! I never take notes thinking the same thing and then every time the beads come out of the kiln I wish I had!

You are right Dawn. Absolutely incredible colors. Now, I have to buy some cherry blossom. My mouth is still hanging open.

Here's a quickie freeform bead I did as a tester for some colors.
For the life of me, I can't remember the colors. Ack.

You gals and guys are getting the most incredible colors. I'm in awe!
Here are some beads I made using the Lauri Bronze. These were test beads. All the colors are from the bronze except the ends. The one with the blue ends, the ends are the Light Havana. All these beads were made with the Bronze and then I put dots of clear on and dragged it around. Then heavily reduced them. Lots of colors came out but I'm not crazy about the pink shade. It is in the ruby family from what I read. Anyways, can't wait to see what you folks do with this stuff.
