I buy big donuts of goldstone at Shipwreck beads. I heat them up in the kiln, punty a rod to the edge of the donut and pull stringers from that. Straight goldstone, no clear.

I'm lucky because I can pick the donuts out I want in person. I get the sparkliest ones and pull flattened stringers and they are very glittery straight.

You can also encase goldstone with transparent red . . . . it looks like Dorothy's shoes from the Wizard of Oz

Goldstone, Bluestone, Aventurine Green cabochons don't have holes in them.
