Default Which reds do you recommend?

I'm going to buy some red opaque and transparent glass and don't know if I should get Moretti, Lauscha, Bullseye, etc. I'm wondering if the best approach is to buy a rod of each red and make a beads to compare colors. I'm a rather color-disabled person, not color blind, but not color savvy. I've never used reds and would appreciate any advice you can offer. If you have any photos it would be very helpful. I'd like a 'valentine' red and also a deep red. I'm also looking for a deep red-violet or violet-red.

Thanks for your help!

Well, I'm not a fan of any of the 104 reds. I haven't had much luck with them. I have heard some really good things about the reds from Pi Glass (http://piglass.com/). But, since they are 96 COE, they aren't compatible with 104 glass.

Lauscha's red are very nice!
I prefer the Lauscha's red to Moretti's red.

I like Lauscha transparent red and Effetre Purple Red. I also like Vetrofond Striking Rainbow red for a (sometimes) more Garnet color.

The transparent Lauscha is blood red. It's nice to work with too.
