I have another pic of some from last night- and there is one in there I REALLY like. The one with the spiral wrapped around it is a base of DA, encased and then wrapped with DA and then reduced. I just LOVE the colors from the DA when it is reduced.

okay, here are a few sets of mine
I found that if I made part of a set one night and did another part later, the beads dont match at all. Did I mention that I love this glass?!?!

umm I think it was nougat. All out of french vanilla or would have chosen that. These turned out incredibly earthy and not so pink and purpleish.
I almost dont want to sell them

Is this a regular production color or is it an odd lot? Is it possible to still get some of the Dark Aurora and from whom? Beautiful beads everyone! Wow!

It's an odd lot color. I'm not sure who still has any though.

I got mind in the mail tonight and can't wait to give it a go. I know where you can get some. www.md-designs.net Marion has always been a treat to deal with. I am not affiiated with them at all.

Mine looks more amberish to me with a slight blue haze. In other words, it looks like NUTTIN' in the rod and then you work it - <swoon>

I was hoping that someone would post a pic so I could compare it to some rods I have, but it doesn't matter now.
See, I was at Bullseye this morning going through the glass bins and in the dark topaz bin was this other dark tonality which I was pretty convinced wasn't even the same glass. So, I questioned it with the lovely people who were helping me and I guess I was insistent enough that they went back and struck the colors. A few minutes ago someone called to tell me that my 1/2 pound of Dark Amber isn't Dark Amber after all, but Dark Aurora. Yay me!
Naturally I tried to score the rest, but she told me there wasn't any. I just feel incredibly lucky that I get to try out the glass. Woot!

One day I want to go up there and visit all the glass places/factories. I think that would be a fun trip.

Yes, I did get the lower price, plus I have a the 50% thingy because of the studio stocker pack.
So, if I'm reading my receipt correctly, my half pound of Dark Aurora cost $5.75. I can't believe my good fortune.

It is fun. The northwest is an incredible mecca for glass.

Yep - that would be about right. The Amber is 11.50 a pound with the 50% discount, so 1/2 would be $5.75. Saved yourself about $11. Congrats

I had the same thing happen with my order (I just found out last night). I ordered 5 rods of Dark Amber and 5 of Dark Aurora. Last night I went to pull stringer from from my Dark Amber... and it turned blue/silver!!
When I ordered some of the odd lots today, I let them know what had happened so I could pay for what I got, and she said not to worry about it and Merry Christmas! How Nice.
I've got some pictures to take and post. Nothing stellar (newbie beads), but this color sure is fun to work with.

Same with me. They just said congratulations and have fun.
I love the people at Bullseye.

I'm so jealous! You guys in the Portland/Pacific Northwest area are so lucky! I'd so LOVE to be able to go each month and play with the glass!
(In my best Napolean Dynomite voice) Lucky!

I just got mine in the mail....yipee!! Now what do you think's the best base for it? If I'm understanding what's been said, you should not overwork it & take it out and let it cool a few times....right?
