Default Translucent bead question

I’ve seen posts before but cannot find them on finishing the cleaning of the beads to make the center more translucent. When I clean my beads, I either use my bead reamer/ cleaner or my Drexel. Both ways leave the etched center to my beads. It’s no big deal on an opaque bead, but on the transparent, i want to have the center be more translucent. I’ve tried beeswax with olive oil, clear nail polish,,,,but I wanted to know if there is something else that I could use. The nail polish fumes just aren’t good for me and the beeswax mixture doesn’t give me what I’m looking for. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Jo Ann,

I have developed a specialty product for enhancing and protecting etched glass.
It is called “Bead Butter” and I sell it on etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/9565831...nal-for-etched
It is made from all natural and organic products.

Many of my customers buy Bead Butter specifically because it helps to create better looking bead holes on transparent beads.
I suggest applying the Bead Butter to a cotton swab and running it through the bead hole after it is cleaned of bead release.

This is a photo, contributed by Christiana Hancox, that illustrates what Bead Butter can do.

I would also suggest cleaning the bead with the mandrel it was made on. Takes longer and I can't promise it will work with all bead release.
