Default Confused

My oxygen machine died. It no longer produces oxygen, just air. I don't have money to replace the machine. I had to go rent a oxygen tank. I am having so much trouble getting adjusted. Any tips?

What pressures are you using for both gases?

Medical concentrators are in the range of 5 to 10 psi static output pressure. Check the oxygen tank low pressure gauge and see if it is reading 5 psi when the torch is in operation.

If you are still not seeing the previous flame characteristics, then vary the oxygen range from 1 to 10 psi and see if there is a sweet spot. Also check the torch manual for recommended fuel and oxygen pressure settings.

What torch are you running? From there we can make suggestions for regulator settings.

from GTTs instruction sheet, a good starting point is 5psi propane and 10psi on the oxygen regulator. Again this is a starting point and your application and working style may dictate otherwise. Give these settings a try. There is a free instruction sheet on their website. Lots of good info there.

Was the issue solved? And if yes, what was the answer?
