Can someone tell me which flashlight it is please
I read all of Dawns thread about making Raku work and somewhere in the 25 pages someone mentioned they got a specific flashlight at ACE Hardware to use to check they don't over reduce their beads. I have searched all the key words I can think of and nothing comes up .... Anyone know what type it is or where I can find the info in the thread. Much appreciated!

Hi Angie,
I couldn't find anything about a particular one, but found this post by Dawn where she mentions using a flashlight with her striking glass:

You're too funny Malcolm. It's a REALLY BRIGHT flashlight to use to check your reduction or striking is done enough or too much. I'll keep it right at the torch and use it to check the bead colors before they go into the kiln. It's really made well too.

Yea! I just got a little one at HF with a coupon, and I know it isn't as good, but maybe I'll stick it out by my torch anyway.

Why not just put a 23 watt 6500K CFL bulb (1600 lumens) above your bench?

I've got windows for sunlight, & fluorescent lights that are pretty bright if they're working right, but the humidity seems to affect them & they go off. DH has replaced the fixtures, replaced the bulbs, etc. but it makes no difference. Every time he tells me, there, they work now, I go out & they start flickering or go off when it's been rainy or extra humid.
And I'm under a big old tree, so it depends on the day and hour how much sun actually comes in the windows.

Having good lighting is important - it helps minimize strain and even protect your eyes. You should find some way to hang a shop light or something above your work bench.

Yeah, if you need a flashlight to check your beads then you don't have enough studio lighting.

Well, if the flashlight goes missing, I would place bets on where you'd find it.

I think that the rep for TAG [sorry, can't remember her name] gave the same flashlight tip for fire lotus at our bead retreat last year.
