Default low cost lampworking torch

the hothead is a great torch. but i recently found a torch i like better that only cost $12.00 at a local hardware store. its flame can be adjusted from a small pencil thin flame, up to a large diffuse flame and every where inbetween. it has a built in spark lighting mechanism, a flame adjustment knob, and an adjustable colar that can be used to dial the flame from a netural to a reducing flame. i took several pictures of the torch and various flames it can make.

more photos. also shown in my old torch which i have used to light every offhand session in my glory hole, every lampworking session, every outdoor blowing session. i call it my "spark of creativity". i will make sure it still has a place in my studio. this new torch will be "sparky 2" and can use either propane or mapp gas. the new torch was purchased at Mills Fleet Farm, so check your local farm and fleet store to see if you can find one.

I was going to ask the same thing--esp. ivories and transparents. What is the name of this baby?

Thanks so much for this info...

I looked up the company you named, but their website is limited.

Would you mind telling me the brand name of the torch you are describing?

That would be most helpful.

Thanks,

Ellen
