Nobody laugh... This is my first ever batch of beads for BOC.

Some that are a little odd, but some kid might like:

Here is a selection of a new design I've come up with for the kiddos. I call them Fritskirts and they come in peace

OK, I got the other two bowls back. I'm bummed that the lettering filled with glaze and some words you can't read, but the bowl will still hold beads! (or mashed potatoes for that matter should the winner choose to use it for food).
I was trying to ensure I had sprayed enough glaze on them, but I overdid it. So sorry

I didn't check the calendar when I said June 1st, so I'm changing that to allow a bit of leeway to mail. I'm going to choose a name on Wednesday evening, so if your picture of your donation is posted when I post that I'm getting ready to draw names Wed, June 4th, it will be included.

I will be drawing one name, and that person can choose one of the following pieces. Three are bowls, one is a "jar" in case they want to use it for a water jar at their work station, etc.

Anyway, not perfect, but made with good intentions...

The insides:

Nice bowls! I love the color. I have a second batch to send from our last two play dates, but I keep forgetting to take pictures before I get them into the bubble wrap bags.

I have some done, but not enough for the small flat rate yet. Maybe this weekend I can top it off.

Jzbloom,
I loved your idea on the fritskirts! I'd been in a rut on what to make, so I borrowed your idea and made "fritmonsters". Started out similar, but morphed into ones with big goofy eyes and grins. I hope you don't mind, since they're being donated and not sold...

I'll post some picks of my latest batch a little later this evening.

You've pushed me to pack up my bowl of beads. I'll load up the picture as soon as I recharge my battery.

I love your bowls, and the BOC kids really need more beads. Thank you for doing this!

Thank you all for playing. The winner is JZBloom, #16 in the list of names (first post was edited with names).
I hope you enjoy filling your bowl with BOC beads (or mashed potatoes or dog food, as the case may be!

We should keep it going. I will try to come up with an idea for a giveaway. But if somebody else want to go first, go ahead!

Congrats JZ! I isn't take pictures of my beads. My box weighed 1 pound 4 ounces. A mixture of colors and shapes. Some faces, fun kid styles.

I'd love another BOC challenge. I need to keep an eye out.

Thanks Eileen.

When I went and dropped off my beads today (they have a really cute little store now!), I picked up a couple of their little collectible booklets. So that is going to be the next give away! I think I should start a new thread for it so the title is different. I'll get pics this weekend and get it up and running by Monday or so. How does a Sept 1 deadline sound?

I hadn't heard about the booklets, sounds like a good idea!

I wish I lived close enough to stop in & see the headquarters, but I don't think that will be happening

I'm not sure I can meet the Sept 1st deadline, I'll be taking some to the Gathering (1st year to attend!) in July, but I can try. If I don't make the deadline, I'll still be sending some in as soon after as I can.

September sounds great to me!

I have to make a SERIOUS effort to make BOC beads. I've got hundreds of loose beads lying around the house, and when I went through them looking for BOC donations - I discovered that I pretty much *never* make a bead without silver glass on it. Never.

Are they encased? If so, they can be used, but not if it's on the surface.
The good thing about making them for BOC though is that at least the "crayon" colors are cheaper!
