Water in O2 hose???
Is condensation or water in the 02 hose normal?
Also, what is the "best" length of 02 hose to have?
Mine is about 3 feet max in length, but it goes from out to down then back up to the torch (so there is something similar to a trap in it).
I've been having issues with my flame - goes slowly from neutral to dragon to neutral again about once every 5-10 minutes....I'm thinking the water in the line is what is doing it....but why is it there? my old oxycon never got water...
????
thanks! Julie

Well it could be humidity and tempature drop.
For pneumatic tools there are inline driers used for equipment.
I'm not sure if there is something similar for o2...
Often medial usage adding o2 is common.

Are you getting the oxygen tanks from a supplier or filling them yourself? Water or other condensation should not be present in commercial oxygen cylinders.

The recommended operational relative humidity for a typical concentrator is from 20% to 60%. In the north country, the inside RH should be very low this time of year. However, if one is running a home humidifier that could be a consideration. IMO a high RH would allow water vapor to condense in a cold hose.

There are filters and even dehumidifiers in oxy cons and they need to be changed every five years or some such. I think the old dehumidifiers can be dried but the old filters probably need to be tossed.
I don't have ready access to the web sites but there are a few out on the net that can tell you how to go about finding and replacing them.
I have to ask the obvious here ; You don't have the water cup hooked up do you? The water cup on the front of the oxy con puts moisture in the oxygen for patients to breath but should be taken off for use by us glass addicts.

lol...thanks for the comments thus far! no, the "water cup" is long gone.
I'm going to try it again today after letting it sit for a couple of days, cleaning the torch, etc...
