Is there a tutorial for making a button?
I'm looking for a tutorial on not only making an end-of-mandrel button but how to attach the metal ring and disk to the back of it for attaching.
Anyone know of something?
Thanks!

This one is pretty good:

Anne Ricketts has one also - even though it uses the key mandrel you could hold the wire in hemostats. I can't find a link to buy it however:

This appears to be the tutorial I am looking for but it appears the link has been disabled. The button I am looking for is the one that looks like a mushroom top, with the attachment faceted to the back of the bead/button.
Thanks much!

Hi Melissa,
The April 2013 issue of Soda Lime Times is about buttons and baubles. It has a tutorial on how to make a button with a copper wire shank. If you are a subscriber, then you probably have it. I know you can get past copies for $6.95. There are several tutorials/issue and so much information that you will definitely get your money's worth!

I make mine without the metal loop. First make a skinny disk that's fairly tall. Heat it on one side and let it slump, then press the droopy bit on you marver. The shank is formed by the glass on top of the rod and the smooshed droopy bit turns into the button.... if that makes any sense at all.
