Default How to upload attachment?

What do I need to do to upload an attachment? I have made a tutorial I want to post, but I keep getting an invalid message. My tut is on a word doc.

Click "new post", "manage attachments".

I still get an invalid file message. Maybe I need to save it as a different type of file? I don't think it is because it is too big. I've seen tuts submitted all in one post and theirs have more pics than mine. All my pics were saved at medium resolution. Do I need to change that to low resolution?

Did they attach them, or just type them in and insert photos?

The tut I am referencing to is Heather Fermans (Dasi) "A torso tutorial for the sculpturally challenged." The pictures are within the body of the tutorial. I did notice that on the free tutorial search page, her tutorial has a paper clip icon used for attachments and there is a check mark next to it.

It looks to me like she put the instructions in the post as normal, and inserted the photos as attachments. Of course, I could be wrong, heaven knows I'm no expert. Maybe someone who is more versed will come along.

Yes, or write it out then inserted the pictures where she wanted the text, etc.
Maybe you could copy & past from your word document for the text?

Copy and past the text and insert the photos between steps.

(What Eileen said...)

Norma - I think I've figured it out! the current default for a word document is .docx
that's not an type you can upload. go into the document, select "Save As" and then choose Word 97-2003. That saves as a .doc and will upload!
If you have any problems let me know or email me 2dogsphoto [at] gmail.com
