Cool Andreas! I have been trying out the hotworking, coldworking, hotworking thing myself. Is there a limit to how many times we can do it before we end up having problems with the glass? I am thinking we might end up with devitrification, or maybe weak glass. Does anybody know the answer to that question?

What I do have is a class pic from this past Monday afternoon:

I'm the dork in the STFU shirt and red shorts  Milon is hiding behind Jerry on the far left, Ron Bearer Jr. is behind me (in the black shirt). I'm embracing the lovely and talented Lori Robbins. The other guys (from left to right) are Mark, "Bob", Russel, Dave & Dan. Shawnette had to get home a little bit early, so she didn't make it into the photo. Such an awesome group! The energy, enthusiasm and overall atmosphere was stellar!

I had a really great time, despite the fact that my skills were way behind the curve...Damn it I'm used to being the smart kid in class! Glass has a way of humbling me, which is probably a good thing considering my Manhattan-sized "sense of self-esteem" (*cough*ego*cough*). The only salve to my pride is that Milon never stumped me with his impressive vocabulary..."Neologisms" indeed... I wonder if anyone else was catching some of the stuff he was throwing out there
I got stumped by one or two But as the whole class now knows. I AM S L O W.......... (but good, so sayith Milon)

Thanks everyone! Now, let's just hope the buying public likes them also.

Here are the last ones that I will be able to complete before my show tomorrow. Hey, if you are in San Antonio, come by the King William Fair and see me.

Toni your marbles and cages are soo cool!

Eric, I am loving your new coldworked stuff. Just wondering- have you tried taking one of these pieces back into the flame and adding a lens to it? Don't know if that would work, just another thing out of my current reach

You read my mind! I did try it but my lens didn't turn out right, so I ground it back off. Here is a before and after picture of the same pendant that I added more frit to and a lens and then ground the lens back off. Getting one in the correct shape just didn't work for me. I even tried to cab it with my genie, but that wasn't working either.

Hey, when you spend 5 hours or more on the torch most days, sometimes even I get it right. As to my colors, sometimes they are planned and sometimes they just happen....and I usually don't post the ones that don't turn out.l I really like some of the colors you have been getting in your implosions. The striking colors are still a real challenge for me when encased or worked in implosions.

Brent - I love your new beads!
Country Kid - Nice looking stuff. I would love to see one of these on a belt to get the full effect.

Just got back from my show last night. It was a pretty good one for me. Sold some of the new coldworked series and some marbles as well, but most people were looking for stuff for $30 and under. Now, time to get back on the torch to prepare for next weekend's show.

Hi Eric
Yeah and how! They don't look like much do they? I wasn't happy with the hardware I got for the buckle the first time so I ordered a couple of different types to see which will work best. That, and spending time in the "darkroom" to learn how to take good pictures...new camera....model with a nice six pack...or for some a tiny waist ...yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
Hay and Mr. Smiley I hope you noticed that the skull is smoking. I hear you might have some issues with that. I'm the queen of quiting. I do it all the time. Now I've been off them from 1-1-07, and the beer too. A guy once said drinking and not smoking is like pooping and not peeing.
Well Ya'll see more photos soon as I learn how.
