Invermere is located in the east Kootenays, otherwise called the Columbia
Valley, just a few kilometres from Radium Hot Springs and south west of
Banff National Park. This beautiful valley lies between the Rocky Mountains
and the Purcell Mountain Range. The Columbia Valley is a popular tourist
destination especially for those who enjoy the great outdoors. For art lovers
Invermere is a hotbed of activity. Pynelogs Cultural Centre, on the shore of
Lake Windermere, displays the works of many of the numerous valley artists
as well as hosting performances in the warm, light-filled gallery. Pynelogs has
undergone extensive renovations, preserving the historical design integrity of
the original log structure built in 1915.

-Promoting Glass Beadmaking in Canada-
The Pacific Pyros is a non-profit club based in B.C. Our goals are to promote
awareness of glass beadmaking (lampworking) in Canada by exposing a wider
audience to this art form and to inspire creative development among beadmakers.
The show is open to all levels of glass beadmakers, from beginner to advanced.
We challenge artists to push the traditional boundaries of beadmaking and
encourage their creativity. The deadline for exhibition entry is April 1, 2006.
