Default Camera Opinions

Hi, I Need some help. When I bought my camera, I intended to use it for taking pictures of beads with it. I'm very happy with my Sony F717 !

I'm not up to date on new camera's out there. My son in law would like to buy a digital for my daughter, how nice is that
Anyway, here are the ones he's looking at.......

Nikon coolpix s630
Nikon P90
and the Nikon 12.1 mp , this one would give her capabilities to add on

Anyone using one of these? Opinions appreciated. Or if there is another make / model you think is better?

the nikon 12.1 - what camera is that? If it is a DSLR, that would be my recommendation.

Depends on what kind of pictures she likes to take. I'm a point and shoot person, and my 6 year old Coolpix is just fine for me. Little, no fussing (although I do carry the book with me!). I just want to have fun and make it easy and because it is, I take more pix then I ever thought I would.

So it really depends on the kind of pix and the amont of work she wants to do.
