Default My cheapo frit screen....

Hey folks....

So I thought I'd share this little find for all you frit fiends out there. If you're making your own frit and need to sift through the sizes but are like me and don't have handy dandy frit sifters lying around.....

I found the sink drain strainer thingies to be a handy small screen - I think this should probably process a size one frit. I also found small flour sifters with a finer mesh for smaller frit.

I went to the hardware store and was all set to get wire screen but they only sell that by the roll and I don't need that much so this was the next best alternative.

Anyhow, thought I'd share this tip in case anyone was also needing to sift some frit

A women in our shop made one using empty jif peanut butter jars ( you can cut off the jar and the lid will fit into the bottom of another jar, she cut a round piece of mesh and fit in inside the lid) and different sizes of the plastic mesh that you can embroider on. It has three screens inside each lid and goes from big to fine - works like a charm!
