Default Possible Tutorial?

I've had some people ask me if I would be doing a tutorial on the way I've been making my beads.

So I just wanted to see if there would be enough interest in it to make it worth the trouble.

What you would learn is, not only how I apply the designs, but more importantly, how I'm getting all the pretty colors.

For those of you who haven't seen my beads and have no idea what I'm talking about, I've uploaded a page of recent example beads to my website. It's too big to post here so I'm just posting a link to it.

If you do have an interest, could you tell me which style you have the most interest in so I can decide which ones would be best used in the tut. if I decide to do it?

Here's the link.

http://www.frogsongstudio.com/tutpage.jpg

Thanks.

Debra

Hi Debra,

I am glad you are considering this.

My all time favorites of yours are the ones that have the starburst of silver in the center:
3 across - 1 down
3 across - 2 down
1, 2 and 4 across - 4 down

Lately, I am really liking the ones with twisties too:
1 across - 2 down
1 and 3 across - 5 down

Can't wait to see your tutorials and wish you luck with them.

I know how to make the beads, but would buy it for the colour combos cuz I'm too lazy to experiment right now!

Beautiful beads Debra, and outstanding colors. I'd consider buying your tutorial when my tutorial budget becomes available again. (Darn it - these tutorials are interfering with my book budget - and my class budget too!)

I know there are quite a few people who can't get the silver glasses to work for them, like the ones from Double Helix, neither can I. And I know there are those who can't afford the silver glasses right now.

So I should probably mention that I don't use any of the silver glasses in these beads and it's very easy to get the nice colors. No striking, no reducing, no special kiln settings, nothing special at all, so even a beginner could get these results with no problem.

There's been 165 views on this thread and only 6 people interested. I'm not sure there's going to be enough interest to go to all the trouble of doing a full blown tutorial. I'm guessing putting a tutorial together is going to be a lot of time and work.

But I'm still considering it.

There are alot of people who never post but will buy the tutorial, I bet.
Any idea how much it will go for?
Some peeps may be exhausted money-wise on tutorials right now and may have to wait before buying but the tutorial will have more than an overnight life , you could be selling it for years to us and new people that haven't even heard of lampworking yet!
Also, it's only been posted for less than a day, right??
I hope you will do it !
Pretty please!!!

I'm not sure how much I would sell it for. I think it would depend on how many pages it ends up being, but I'm thinking somewhere in the vicinity of $15.00 to $18.00.

Hey Debra

I love these and have NO clue how you did the swirly wave thing...I would certainly buy a tutorial that showed this..

1st col, 2nd down - blue and green
1st col, 5th down - darker blue and green
3rd col, 5th down - blue and pink

Also of interest would be the silver glass info as I'm just now starting to experiment with it.

Thx, Julie

The pictures wouldn't show up on this computer. I don't know why. But, I would love to see your tutorial. I'm very interested. I've learned more from the tutorials I have purchased, although I had to put myself on a budget, because, other than Anne's class at the Gathering in 2007, I've never really had a class. I hope you do this. Thanks.

I can't just pick a few I love them all and would love to know your color combo's. The idea that they don't take any silver or special glass is fantastic and you should market it that way. Just call me a tut ho I love them and think that you will easily make enough money to cover your time + a whole lot more.

Debra~

I agree with what others have said, many people who don't post will probably be interested in a tut on your lovely beads, especially because they don't require specialty glass. I think a tut that explains how you create the patterns, and also lists color combos as well would be terrific. A chart that shows specific combinations for each of your photos with color numbers would be worth it's weight in gold.

I don't know about other folks, but I really think hard about how much I will learn from a tut before I'm willing to plunk down my $20 for it. Having said that, exciting new color reactions that really pop are something that would always get my attention!

I think they do take silver, just not silver glass.

Yes, they do take silver. Just no special silver glasses to have to worry about having to strike or reduce just right. I'm silver glass challenged.

The tutorial will show how I make the beads, but I think the most important thing you'll learn, especially beginners, is how to get the different color reactions.
