I f you do a search on your questions at the top right hand corner, you can find lots of info on different subjects. You can even limit your search to the boro room if that is what you want to do.

Most everything I make these days is fumed. To fume with silver, you use a reducing flame and hold the silver at the tip of the inner candles of the flame. A little fuming goes a long way. A little fume will give you blues. A lot of fume will give you whites.

Are you working with boro? Are you into beads, or marbles, or sculpture? If you are doing marbles in boro I can help - there is a tutorial in Glass Line (Feb/Mar 2007, Vol. 20 #5 by Anakin) called 'Matrix Marble Step by Step' that I used to learn silver fuming. If you have a SPECIFIC question, just ask.

I have good ventilation, but whenever I do fuming, I wear a respirator too. They're very cheap. About $20 at harbor freight or Northern Tool. Sure beats getting lung cancer or enphyzema.
