Default Chili Peper Kiln getting too hot

Do any of you guys know what might be the problem with my kiln?. At the setting I have always used for the temp 960 the kiln is now spiking past 1000 and will not cycle down to cool off.

Is it clicking off and on or just staying on all the time?

staying on all the time,, I just call the company and they are sending me a element. I have used it for 7 years no problems and they lady told me they usually only last for two years so I got my money worth she is sending me a new element. 25 bucks. I also bought a new Chili Pepper from Hoy with the digital control.

yeah, what Mike said - and he should know. If the kiln is getting hot, then the element is working, but the relay is stuck.

Not necessarily. There have been a number of complaints recently about runaway controllers that ignore the instructions to stop at a directed temperature.
