Default lausha compatible?

Hi, I'm back to lampworking after many years, and made some beads yesterday with some fancy reactive glass (forget the name) and encased it with lausha clear, and they all seemed to crack.

can I start out my base bead with lausha clear, and then make a bead, and finish with lausha clear? Thank you for your help.

Hard to say for sure why the beads cracked unless we can see them but if it is compatibility related then the glass is trying to tell you something. In my experience it is best to listen to it and move on to glasses that will fit better.

Merry,
The newer versions of Lauscha Clear work better with silver colors. OR you can do the sandwich thing that you just described. Also if you still have trouble maybe try a more conservative annealing schedule.

I stopped using Lauscha a long time ago due to compatability problems. The higher annealing temps weren't good for my striking colour beads
