Default Mini CC hook up question

I recently hooked up my mini after working with a minnow for years. When I am using the torch, I reach down to adjust the flow and the knobs are really hot, is this normal?
I want to love my new torch but this concerns me.
Any help is greatly appreciated...

You may want to add a little oxygen to your mixture as extra fuel can add heat.
Do you notice a reduction flame?

call carlise to be on the safe side, you may not have the regulators set correctly or there may be some other issue, as Mike pointed out Oxygen is a cooling factor

Mike..thanks for your response. I will check that I don't have too much fuel vs oxy. I am having a little trouble getting it just right. I was trying to get the flame really small as I was working with stringers. I will adjust for more oxy to see if that helps.
Thanks again,
Ranae

Thanks Morgan...I will try adding oxy and then if it continues, I will call carlise to check on it. Thanks!

The knobs on Mini cc's always get hot. It's normal for this torch. Hang on and I'll go do a quick search for past threads.

Here is one thread I found :

and another:

Odd, I've never noticed my mini getting hot knobs... guess I'll have to pay more attention and see if it does . Granted I only torch for 2-3 hours at a time.

Yeap...my mini cc knobs get hot...not so hot where you can't touch them. I was told that it is normal for a mini cc.
