Question MIG/CO2 regulator?

Can this regulator be used instead of a acetylene/propane regulator for lampworking?

I think it might work in a pinch but I don't know about long term use.

I know that acetylene hoses get gummy and break down in the presence of propane so I would wonder about any regulator not specifically made with propane in mind.

I am pretty sure that regulators are designed to fail in a shut off position so you should be safe if it does die on you but the less expensive things are cheaper for the reason that they are made with less expensive material and I don't think you really want to cheap on something so important.

Perhaps a tool rental place nearby might have one to get you through the weekend?

Bar - B - Que regulators are about that price and they will reduce tank pressure to about 5 or 6 psi. That should be enough to use with most of the medium to smaller torches I think.

NO
1. the threads are right hand not left hand like for fuel
2. the diaphragms inside are not made for petroleum products

I figure that was likely the case, but ...

Thanks for the answers
