I'm thinking of buying this kiln...
Delphi Ez-pro 11-4.5 Kiln With Flip Door from Delphi Glass. http://www.delphiglass.com/flamework...flip-door.html Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Any thoughts?
I'm new to lampwork (around 8 months at a rented torch) but I'm trying to set up at home. I want to spend as little as possible because I'm broke but I can't stand tools that don't work (pet peeve) so I don't want to save $100 and regret it for years.
Thanks for your help!

www.twolassesglassclasses.com has this same kiln for $505, but you may want to check and see if they have it in stock. That Delphi kiln is actually just a Jen Ken 11/4.5 so you may want to check for other places that carry them too.
you might also want to consider a paragon bluebird - this guy has them at an excellent price

I have this kiln & it's great! I can get 12" mandrels in through the bead door. It's also big enough that if you decide to get into fusing later, you could do some pretty good size things in it. You can PM me if you have any questions.

I have the same one too and I am very happy with it. I've had mine for two years now with no issues and no regrets! The only thing I would have done differently at the time would have been buying my ventilation system first- I was such a newbie and everything I made wasn't even worth annealing. I work in my garage and until recently I was using a fan blowing behind me with the garage door wide open- not good!
Good luck and congrats on getting your own studio!

Thank you all for your replies!!
I think I will go for the Jen-Ken kiln because it would allow me to do some fusing in the future too. On the other hand the Bluebird has a better shape. I guess I haven't decided after all!
The best part of all of this is that the "still to be named" kiln will be bought for me as a "Zero" birthday present.

My Kiln.
This is my studio in New York. The kiln was made by Marcel Braun In Oregon.
$900.00 and change but it has TWO bead doors and a shelf. It will hold the tallest goblets or whatever. Well worth the money.

I think this is the same kiln for about $100 less ending soon on eBay ...

I have the same kiln. Great kiln for starting out. If I had more space, I would LOVE to go bigger.
