V941 Pineapple Sparkle
Just discovered this color on a color chart reference site. Anyone know if it is still available?
Here's what the write up said:
although a Vetrofond color rod, Pineapple Sparkle is worth putting in the rare category. The real deal has a smallish white core and actual sparkles along the bead when formed.
Here's what it looks like:

I think it's still available but I'm thinking the original batch was best.... oh, and an inside hint & tip, work it cool or you'll burn the sparkle out of it. Ask me how I know!

I think Pineapple Sparkle is out of production and I'm not sure you are missing much. Some people do love it but to me it is just a weird shade of yellow green. A lot like Key Lime, another color I just don't love.
If you really want some, you might post a WTB in the Garage Sale.

I have a few rods of it. I think it's a beautiful yellow, although erose is right, it is kind of a weird shade to see in a glass rod. The thing I love best is the sparkle that I see when it's being melted. Unless you get really close and know what you're looking for it's really hard to see the sparkle in the finished bead, though.

I bought a couple of pounds of it a while ago... thinking maybe Mike found it in his vault if it's not in production anymore. I'd be happy to send you a couple of rods.... off to send you a pm.

I like it - it reacts in interesting ways with silver glass.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE pineapple sparkle. I've never had any with the white core, but it's one of the colours I wish hadn't gone rare before I started lampworking. I have a couple rods in the save pile.
I can send you 1 if you want a tease.....

Thank you Rowyn.
Hang onto it - since you only have a few and its in the save pile, I am certainly not going to rob anyone from their save pile - if you are like me - the save pile is like the secret vault of treasures. You never violate it - its that secret place you go to admire your stash - my PREEEECCCCCIOUSSSSS!!!!! LOL
Besides, someone already offered to send me a couple to taunt me with.....
I suspect whats going to happen is that I will fall in love with it and you cant get it anymore then I am gonna be cranky

I think the original is not cored with white. A followup or later batch did come with core. I have some of the original batch and I love it too. I always think of it as a warmer yellow than the trans.yellow.
Now where is the creamy pale yellow of my dreams? Easter egg yellow. We need that in the 104 line up.

I think that's also a Vetrofond odd!
(At least, they had banana cream that is a nice paler yellow, and a bunch of other variations like lemon meringue, which is slightly acider).

Yes banana cream is a really pretty paler yellow with some subtle striping.

I have never used the opalinos. Never even considered them, probably because of the opalino reputation. I should get some one day.

Opalinos are lovely to work with, just work on the cool side.
Alabasters, now that is another story.

But Opal Yellow isn't an opalino...There is a yellow opalino, but the two are entirely different. Opal Yellow is a dream, it finds its way into just about every bead I make.
