Default Anybody else have ALLSTATE Home owners insurance

AND have their studio in the house or garage? I'm just wondering what to expect once I tell them about my planned garage studio. I have all the equipment. I just need to build my benches and vent.

See your agent before you build, your insurance may be cancelled when you mention open flame from a torch and a kiln, especially if your garage is attached to your house.

Thanks Lorraine. I've just noticed many here have studios in their house and attached garage. I need to build the benches and stuff even if I have to build another building.

I have Allstate in Oregon and when I asked my agent about insurance- we talked about having the studio be a non retail business (less liability) and then could he suggested to add a rider onto our house policy. The amount depended upon the value of the contents. He really did not ask much about the torch or kilns I have even though I mentioned them.

Thanks,
I finally got around to talking to my agent and they essentially said the same thing. The were incredibly cool and really could care less about gas bottles.

I love OREGON!
I also just swithed to Allstate too with all of our policies, and really like them
