Encasing shark teeth question
Has anyone ever encased shark teeth with clear to make pendants?
I have a whole jar full of these that a friend of mine collected over the years in Flordia. I thought they would make cool pendants. I also have a bunch of beach glass that she collected and I really have no idea what to do with these either. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tonnia

The teeth will burn up and make a really nasty smell.

You can always wire wrap them, I have done this and they look great. Doreen

Iīve tried shark teeth, too...forget it ....that smell is really nasty....hehe...
But you can melt the seaglass...if you grab a piece with some plier, so that only a small piece is sticking out (because seaglass is really shocky), you can pull stringers and make beads out of it. Because of course it isnīt compatible to anything..or...who knows...I always made one bead out of one piece...This way I got a lot of cool spacers in different greens, blues and ambers...
Those are colors you cannot buy in a rod...

You could also get a piece of some boro tubing and close one end, let it cool and drop in the shark tooth. Then, go back and close the other end. Put a loop at one end and you will have a tooth in a little jar-thingy.

Or you can make a hollow bead on a large mandrel and stick the tooth in the hollow bead.
