Mystery purple in twistie, disappear & reappears?
I made a twistie a few weeks ago I think, & believe it was OY, CG and a new purple I'd bought on a black (064) base. I bought a couple of them though, so am not sure which one. I think they are probably from OCR, Reichenbach?
Anyway, I noticed that depending on how you work it, it must go transparent, because it looks black (two base beads were black as well as a black core on the twistie). Also, the beads pit quite a bit, not sure if that is the purple or something else. I can see wanting it to stay black in some cases, but I could also just leave the purple out if I wanted that.
Can anyone identify the purple? Have any insight as to what is happening? If I cool the bead some, & put back in the flame I can "strike" it back to the purple/blue color.

As my uncle (one of the worlds top scientific glassblowers at the time) once said in reply to my showing him a book on the "Crystal Skull". He just glanced at it and simply said "Oh that thing is from outer space" LOL

CG does weird things to any purple, especially in something as small as a stringer.

Aha, I didn't know that. Maybe that's why.

I know it wasn't edp, because it was a new glass, and I've had that for a long time. Also, this turns kind of blue sometimes, especially heating & cooling. I need to go find my receipts!

Maybe Reichenbach Lilac? Or Reichenbach Lilac Rose?

I think I bought both of those. I guess I'll just have to make twisties of each and keep track of them, and mark the test beads I make too, so I can figure out which one did this. It just seems so odd.
