Default glass that looks like granite

Does anyone know of a coe 104 glass that mimics the look of granite? I saw a bead that looked like stone, with very tiny speckles in it. I have tried fossil and sediment and even pandora, but none of these gave me that granite look. Any suggestions, would be appreciated

Marlene

Considering there are a lot of different "Granites" which one would you be referring to?

How about the new Double Helix Ossa. It has specs of white in it.

The bead I saw was a dark gray/light black color, with the tiny white speckles found in a piece of granite. I have ossa and I don't believe it is that. The bead looks etched. I thought of enamels, too, but don't know which colors or base to even try with that.

Silver leaf over black glass will melt in to make small speckles

It could be enamels. Mix black and white enamel and it will give a granite-like look. I've used it on black beads. Enamels don't "mix" together when they melt.

I have made the little rock looking beads. I used enamels mostly black and white with a touch of gray and brown. Black and white works fine, but I'm a geology major so I had to be picky about it..

I was thinking along these lines. Maybe silver foil melted in and then frit and maybe etched.

I don't know my rocks well enough to pick out granite, but I've had people tell me that this looks like stone.

I soaked it in vinegar & it ruined the finish, so I etched it and it did this

Eileen, where did you get a picture of me to base your goddess on? That looks just like me.
