Sandblasting questions
I bought a sand blaster and I was wondering if I can use baking soda as the media or will it not work does anyone know

It can be done but I think it would take quite a bit to properly etch a design.

Silicon carbide or aluminum oxide is generally used for glass. I wouldn't think baking soda would be hard enough.

I think baking soda can be used but since it is so fine I think it is only going to be useful for paint removal or maybe tarnish.
I don't think it will etch the surface of glass or metal much if at all.
You want the silicon or aluminum grits if you want to do more than remove paint.

I use glass bead media. Soft sweet surface.

As Rebecca has stated, Silicon carbide is the way to go. Non toxic, almost as hard as diamonds so can be reused many times over.
