Help Please :-)
I realize divardi is not everyone's favorite, and I am starting to really see why lol but I have a ton of it so its what I have, and I really am starting to get the hang of it... I haven't sent hot glass flying across the room in days!! WooHoo!!
My question is, some of the rods, so far it has been a clear and a red, when I put them into the flame, I get this residue that pops up, it is almost like a white fuzz and when the glass is cool it is dull and I can still feel the residue on them. I have tried cleaning them with dawn dish soap and that did not help. Any clue what this is and how I can fix it? Thank you in advance

Dawn is great, but what about running them through a dishwasher cycle, or soaking in white vinegar, or PH down (jeweler's pickle) overnight? If none of these work, PM Natasha. She is great to help you!

Thanks Barbara, I didn't even think about pickle, I do silver so most of the time I have some heating in a crockpot, I will try this! Is Natasha with Davardi or part of this page?

Sounds like devitrification. You have to burn it off in the flame or you can etch the bead.

Aha! I totally missed what you meant. Shawnette (who, IMHO is a l w a y s right...and she can quote me on that!) nailed it. Natasha is with Devadi. Very nice.
